Job Description

The Senior Staff Nurse is responsible for supervising and providing high-quality nursing care, guiding junior nurses, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining professional standards in accordance with hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Supervise and guide staff nurses, ANMs, and nursing assistants in daily clinical duties. Administer medications, IV infusions, and treatments as prescribed by doctors. Monitor patients' conditions, record observations, and promptly report critical changes. Ensure proper documentation, maintenance of medical records, and adherence to protocols. Assist physicians during medical procedures and emergency situations. Maintain infection control practices, patient safety, and hygiene standards. Provide patient and family education on care, treatment plans, and preventive health. Participate in nursing audits, quality checks, and continuous training programs. Schedule duties, manage shifts, and ensure adequate staffing in wards/units. Act as a mentor and trainer for junior nurses and interns. Handle complaints, escalate issues to the Nursing Superintendent when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

B.Sc. Nursing / GNM with valid State Nursing Council registration. Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience (depending on hospital requirement). Strong leadership and team management skills. Sound knowledge of nursing practices, protocols, and hospital procedures. Excellent communication, compassion, and problem-solving skills.

Work Conditions:

Rotational shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays). May be assigned to wards, ICU, emergency, or specialty units as per hospital requirements.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
