Job Description

A Senior Staff Nurse provides expert patient care, leads and mentors junior staff, oversees daily ward operations, ensures high standards, coordinates with doctors, and manages complex cases, acting as a vital link between ward management and the nursing team for effective, safe, and positive patient outcomes, often deputizing for the Ward Manager. Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership & Patient Care

Direct Patient Care:

Deliver expert care, especially for complex, critically ill, or post-operative patients, assessing needs and planning care.

Supervision:

Guide and oversee less experienced nurses, students, and auxiliary staff.

Clinical Judgment:

Make informed decisions, manage caseloads, and escalate concerns to physicians.

Emergency Response:

Lead management of medical emergencies within the unit.

Team Management & Development

Mentorship:

Act as a preceptor, mentor, and teacher to develop staff skills and competencies.

Team Coordination:

Assign tasks, manage workloads, and ensure smooth team functioning.

Staff Morale:

Foster positive working relationships and support team development.

Operational & Administrative Duties

Ward Management:

Assist the Ward Manager in daily operations, ensuring safety, discipline, and standards.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate, legible patient records.

Coordination:

Liaise with other departments (pharmacy, labs, other wards) for comprehensive patient care.

Policy Implementation:

Help implement new procedures and ensure compliance with hospital policies and CQC standards.

Professional Development

Continuous Learning:

Stay updated on nursing practices and contribute to research.

Research & Audit:

Participate in or lead audit, evaluation, and research projects.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
