Providing direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, managing life support systems, and providing emergency response.
Observing changes in patient conditions and reporting them promptly to doctors and taking necessary interventions.
Maintaining accurate records of patient progress and interventions.
Supervision and Leadership:
Supervising and guiding other nursing staff, including staff nurses and subordinate personnel, within the ICU.
Assessing and assigning patient care duties to ensure proper staffing and coverage.
Serving as a resource and mentor for staff, providing support and guidance.
Unit Management:
Ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning of the ICU environment.
Participating in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, to ensure optimal patient care.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintaining detailed patient records, including vital signs, medications, and treatment plans.
Preparing and submitting necessary reports and documentation.
Patient and Family Education:
Providing education to patients and families about their condition, treatment plan, and discharge planning.
Supporting families during difficult times and providing emotional support.
