Senior Staff Engineer (Backend): Playing a key role in shaping the architecture, scalability, and reliability of our core backend systems. Leading technical initiatives across multiple teams, set engineering standards, mentor senior engineers, and drive long-term technology strategy. Work closely with product, infrastructure, and data teams to deliver highly available and performant backend services that power platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Design:

+ Define and evolve the backend architecture to support high-scale, distributed systems.
+ Design robust APIs, services, and data models that serve millions of users efficiently.

Technical Expertise:

+ Lead cross-team initiatives and ensure alignment with company-wide technical goals.
+ Review and influence system designs across engineering teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Execution & Delivery:

+ Drive the end-to-end delivery of large technical projects, ensuring high quality and timely execution.
+ Proactively identify technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and areas of improvement.

Collaboration:

+ Mentor and guide senior and staff-level engineers through technical challenges and career growth.
+ Foster a culture of engineering excellence, code quality, and operational ownership.

Innovation & Strategy:

+ Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to continuously improve backend capabilities.
+ Contribute to long-term platform vision and technical roadmap.

Expected Qualifications:

10+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 3+ years at a senior/staff level. Proven experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems (e.g., microservices, event-driven architecture). Deep proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Go, Java, Node, Python, or C++). Strong expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, caching, and data pipelines. Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker). Experience with CI/CD, observability, and performance optimization. * Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical direction across teams.
