Discover the Role
The Senior Specialist - Accounting & Tax will assist the finance team in managing accounting operations, tax compliance, and financial reporting. This role requires strong knowledge of accounting principles, direct and indirect taxation, and regulatory frameworks. The candidate will focus on maintaining accurate books of accounts, supporting timely tax filings, and ensuring adherence to statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Reporting
Manage day-to-day accounting activities and ensure accuracy of financial records.
Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
Taxation
Handle compliance for direct tax (income tax, corporate tax) and indirect tax (GST, TDS, etc.).
Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring timely filing and payment.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and share relevant updates with the team.
Compliance & Controls
Ensure adherence to statutory requirements and internal policies.
Maintain proper documentation for tax assessments and audits.
Support implementation of effective internal controls.
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with external consultants, auditors, and tax authorities as required.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve financial queries.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
Professional certification (CA Inter, CMA Inter, or equivalent) preferred.
5+ years of experience in accounting and taxation roles.
Strong knowledge of Indian tax laws (Income Tax Act, GST regulations).
Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Tally, Oracle, or similar).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
