Responsibilities

This role is a People Leader role and managing benefits operations and governance for the entities under remit.

Purpose of the role:

  • The role holder is responsible to support Service Delivery function in India by optimizing HR operations delivery.
  • To lead the Service Delivery function in SCB India, SCMAC, SCILL and SCSI by providing benchmarked process, optimizing delivery, to achieve country business performance.
  • To support Regional HR Performance Reward Benefit Delivery (SD) Head in driving the Group SD agenda in the region.
  • To build strong network with key stake holders.
  • The role holder is responsible for the successful & seamless roll out / implementation of HR transformation agenda / project initiatives.
Strategy
  • Executing the Banks benefits objectives / strategy in consultation with Performance, Reward & Benefits and other stakeholders
  • Drive simplification & standardisation: Look for opportunities to design and implement change by way of simplifying the existing benefit related processes/ activities in the country.
  • Identify opportunities of improvement/enhancement of existing processes from efficiency/client experience perspective
Processes & Governance
  • Work with the Head Service Delivery, South Asia to deliver the HR SD agenda and the Strategic People Agenda.
  • Design, develop and implement initiatives, in consultation with Head Service Delivery & Group SD.
  • Develop, review, establish and recommend HR processes to enable the function to deliver its business strategy and drive business performance.
  • Provide leadership to HR Function in change management, process design and other 'continuously improving the way we work' initiatives.
  • Manage efficient delivery of HR processing activities through Global People Services Centre (GPS) by establishing Service Level standard for each process and ensure that a regular review of GPS performance is held.
  • Deliver Performance, Reward & Benefits agenda for India with help of PRB specialist team
  • Governance responsibilities include Benefits administration & other vendors, Medical/other reimbursement processes, etc.
  • To undertake periodic self-assessment on key controls to assess the proper functioning and adequacy of existing controls.
  • Embed a customer service culture and drive service excellence through partnership with GPS.
  • Vendor Management- Ensure governance around all processes outsourced to vendors

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations with the GPS teams and work in collaboration with other teams and partners
  • Promote & embed a culture of openness, trust & risk awareness where ethical, legal, regulatory and policy compliant conduct is the norm.
Risk Management
  • Proactive risk management - remain vigilant in identifying and managing forward-looking risks, flagging potential problems to relevant stakeholders in advance of issues arising.
  • Act to minimise operational loss and audit failures and take proactive measures to respond to issues once they have arisen.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Complying with the regulatory & Group reporting requirements and ensuring timely submission of relevant regulatory reports to regulators and non-regulatory reports to relevant Trustees and CPC stakeholders
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Post Graduate with MBA degree or Professional Degree like CA is desirable
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience of which 2 - 3 years in Payroll, benefits administration & Taxation activities
  • People Management experience is important
  • Good communication skill, Process orientation is a must
  • Project Management skill is a must
  • Good interpersonal relationship skill is a must as incumbent will deal with multiple teams & vendors
  • Risk management experience is desirable
  • Experience in Tax & complex issue management is necessary
  • Incumbent needs to be a go getter, self-starter with a positive attitude
