Knowledge Services is seeking candidates for the following position within the MDS group based in the Mumbai office: Senior Specialist - Data Management

We will count on you to:

Gather requirements: Collaborate with business stakeholders, Ops teams, IT and MI teams to understand their needs and gather detailed requirements for new systems or enhancements to existing systems.

Perform business analysis: Analyze and document current business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and automation. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.

Map data elements: Work closely with the source system team and SMEs to map critical and important data elements that meet the business & integration requirements and ensure accurate data flow between systems.

Integrate Systems with Data Lake: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of new systems or enhancements with Marsh data lake. Collaborate with IT teams to define integration requirements and ensure data integrity and security.

Analyze data: Analyze source datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business decisions. Develop data models and perform data mapping to ensure accurate data flow between systems.

Perform Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop test plans and test cases to validate the functionality and performance of new systems or enhancements. Collaborate with the testing team to execute test cases and ensure the quality of deliverables.

Manage Change: Facilitate change management activities, including user training and communication, to ensure smooth adoption of new systems or process changes. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting to end-users.

Document Meticulously: Create comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, system documentation, and training materials, to support end-users and IT teams.

Continuously Improve: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the commercial insurance domain. Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose innovative solutions.

What you need to have:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems
  • Between 3-6 years of experience of business analysis preferably in insurance industry.
  • Understanding of data mapping techniques
  • The ability to ask probing questions with patience and tact
  • Experience decomposing system processes from a workflow perspective to drive performance enhancements.
  • Extensive experience with the data lifecycle\xe2\x80\x94from identification to sourcing to ingestion to transformation to classifications to modelling to storage to analytics and visualization.
  • Experience operating independently but also knowing when to ask for help.
  • Ability to think creatively (vs. by rote) to ensure completeness, accuracy, and utility.
  • Solid communications, along with ability to extract business requirements from client use cases and translating these requirements into technical specifications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills leveraging both traditional (e.g. Office; Teams) tools as well as software lifecycle tools like JIRA.
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate at all levels of an global organization to ensure the successful implementation of change
  • An inquisitive mind that is not afraid to question current ways of thinking

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and present data insights in a compelling and understandable manner, using data storytelling techniques to engage and inspire action.
  • Understanding of information (e.g. sources, identifiers, standards, glossaries, and taxonomies) within the insurance industry data domain.
  • Understanding of business process design and systems change management
  • Experience with various analytical and business intelligence methods and tools
  • Understanding of the data lineage of critical data elements and drive impact analysis
  • Experience working through exception handling processes and solutions with business stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of Agile and other SDLC methodologies, including producing user stories and participating in sprints and daily scrums; familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean principles
  • Understanding of the Informatica suite of Data Management and Governance tools
  • Experience writing complex SQL statements and working with different database structures (e.g. Hadoop Hive, Mongo DB, Oracle, Athena) and various Data Governance (particularly Informatica), Data Quality, Data Virtualization (e.g. Dremio) and Data Visualization tools (particularly Qlik).
  • Experience with DevOps generally, AWS cloud platform tools (e.g. S3 buckets, Voltage, EMR, Spark, and Kafka), and RBAC related tools and processes
Good to have relevant certifications e.g. CBAP etc.
