Job Profile: Senior Specialist – Consulting Solutions, Marsh Advisory, North America Location: Mumbai Business Unit: Marsh Office Name: Marsh McLennan Global Services India Private Limited (MMGS) MMGS Function: Knowledge Services As a part of the Marsh Advisory team in Knowledge Services function of MMGS, the colleague would support our North America Consulting Solutions stakeholders with problem solving through qualitative and quantitative frameworks and provide solutions in the increasing needs of our clients to implement risk management programs within their organization. Consulting Solutions practice is a part of Marsh Advisory that helps companies to change their risk profiles so they can improve resiliency, reduce claims, and minimize the total cost of risk. MMGS is a global knowledge center for Marsh McLennan and houses teams, which work closely with the colleagues across various operating units and locations. This position is out of our Mumbai, India office of MMGS. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help clients mitigate some of their most difficult problems across various risks. What can you expect?

• Help build out the value proposition for the Emerging Risks Group (ERG)
• Conduct analysis, research and reporting to interpret, validate and reconcile complex data
• Perform extensive research to augment the quantitative and quantitative outputs with market intelligence
• Create models/frameworks to harmonize diverse data-sets to deliver actionable and meaningful outputs
• Write reports to present model outputs in non-technical / simplified language for the consumption of senior client leaders
• Coordinate and partner with data science and actuarial teams to synthesize various outputs into one power packed solution for the clients
• Support our advisory stakeholders in writing reports and or industry white papers
• Work alongside team members to ensure the timely completion of deliverables

We will count on you to:

• Help build the ERG value proposition by consistently innovating and enhancing the existing solution
• Actively contribute to report writing and the development of bespoke models
• Assimilate and analysing data, craft working models (excel based), develop and test hypotheses and prepare recommendations for presentation to client management
• Assist us in developing and employing frameworks to resolve complex business problems of our clients
• Develop and implement tailored concepts for risk recognition, measurement, and control

• Build solutions that is a combination of quantitative and qualitative inputs and techniques
• Create trend analysis, time series forecasting, benchmarking, scorecards and indices

• Conduct extensive research to enhance the output and improve the value proposition of the current solution.
• Leverage a solid understanding of business trends, issues, and concepts, to respond efficiently to complex research questions by delivering synthesized, actionable facts and insights to our consulting teams and clients
• Assemble a fact base (primary or secondary research, databases etc), counsel consultants and clients on the scope of the business and economic trends surrounding the issue, and provide insights and analysis
• Communicate the solution, its parameters, its assumptions and its inner workings to audiences who vary widely in their levels of technical fluency and seniority

What you need to have:

• Masters in Economics / Business / Finance / Statistics / Econometrics etc or Engineering + MBA from a reputed university or college
• 5 to 8 years’ experience on consulting and analytics – trend analysis, time series forecasting, benchmarking, scorecards, indices etc.
• Experience in consulting projects and conducting independent secondary research
• Ability to work with internal and external - including paid and publicly available data sources
• Solid functional knowledge, including but not limited to risk, strategy, manufacturing, climate change and sustainability, supply chain, cyber, project management etc.
• Familiarity and experience of working on databases like CapIQ, Factiva, S&P etc.
• Extensive experience on working with Strategic Frameworks
• Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Strong ability to weave a story using multiple data points
• Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills
• Solid understanding of economic, financial, and general business concepts and terminology
• Project management and multi-tasking skills
• Great written and verbal communication
• A team player with extraordinary interpersonal skills with demonstrated stakeholder management

What makes you stand out?

• Strong academic rigour
• Familiarity with core statistical concepts e.g., correlation, regressions, significance values, etc.
• Knowhow of programming languages like Python or R and BI tools like Tableau will be a plus
