We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer

In this role, you will:

The Linux admin job is responsible for leading in building and running enterprise services that enable DevOps.

• Installation and configuration of Red hat Enterprise Linux.
• Linux Booting Process.
• Auto generating IP address through DHCP/Configuring Static IPs.
• Creating partitions and formatting the file systems.
• Creating and managing swap memory.
• Handling user account management by creating, managing user accounts and passwords.
• Basic to advanced level of file permissions including ACLs.
• Configuring PV, VG and LV's as per the requirement. Linux LVM advanced level of expertise.
• Backing up and restoring files across the network using "tar" and dump, and restore.
• Managing the packages using YUM and RPM.
• Remote accessing using SSH.
• File sharing and accessing through FTP, NFS and Samba.
• Assigning root privileges to sudo users.
• Network Configuration and Trouble shooting.
• Monitoring system processes and user process activity, memory activity, network.
• Managing service and daemons.
• Configure and administer multipathing for storage devices. Storage Lun scanning.
• Checking Space availability for File System to increase or Create Volumes.
• Use the automation with ansible for repeated tasks
• Able to understand architecture of systems and recommend design and implementation patterns.
• Be able to deliver within timelines and using precise forecasting and planning of work.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on requirement collection and engineering solution rollouts.
• Consolidate and reduce infrastructure complexity

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Linux Admin (Experience 4 to 6 Years)
• Needs to have working knowledge Red hat Enterprise Linux 6x, 7x. Solaris 10,
• Need to have an understanding of working in a Devops structure
• Experience in a Banking/Financial Domain will be beneficial.
• Share technical knowledge and skills with members to perform tasks as expected
• Meet the delivery standards as per the agreement that includes quality of deliverables, appropriate documentation
• Participate in POCs and other technical initiatives
• Manage projects using dev ops methodologies as well as traditional approaches
• Experience with DevOps tools such as GITHub, Confluence, and Jira
• Experience with Installation and configuration of Red hat Enterprise Linux across a large infrastructure.
• Participate in all technical tasks defined for the team as and when appropriate, ensure completion
• Be aware of the ongoing infrastructure issues and vigilant to avoid / minimize downtime of services
• Understand business, environments, shared services to prioritize incidents
• Ensure the team is educated of critical / high priority applications, escalation procedures, and best practices
• Interact with application teams and other infrastructure teams to make sure the requirements are addressed in time.
• Work with regions for MIRs and SIPs
• Identify operational risks and contribute to mitigate the same.
• Provide technical inputs to assist create project plans & schedules, effort estimates, requirement gathering & analysis, risk analysis.
• Identify sustainable cost savings & efficiency gains that can be achieved in terms of FTE requirement through automation of manual tasks, removal of duplicate tasks, improvements in processes
• Identify service delivery issues (SLA Slippages, Quality etc.), and implement corrective actions
• Periodically review and update existing process / project documentation, process workflows, document templates, communication template and checklists.
• Prepare new best practices documents, technical, and processes documents for project / technology as applicable.
• Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Pivotal Cloud Foundry also beneficial.
