About the Business Unit


System & Network Admin: IT service provider to all the business within Times internet.



Role Summary:


We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer with strong expertise in Python and modern frameworks like Flask or FastAPI, along with experience in Kubernetes-based deployments. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience building, scaling, and optimizing backend services in cloud or on-prem environments.



Role and Responsibilities:


Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Python (Flask/FastAPI).


Work with relational and time-series databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB).


Implement efficient, secure, and scalable server-side logic.


Deploy, monitor, and manage microservices on Kubernetes and Docker.


Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps to deliver high-quality solutions.


Ensure code quality, performance optimization, and adherence to best practices.


Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for backend services.


Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.


Stay updated on the latest backend technologies, frameworks, and cloud-native tools.



Requirements:


5-7 years of hands-on experience in backend development.


Strong programming skills in Python with experience in Flask or FastAPI.


Knowledge of REST API design, authentication, and security best practices.


Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.


Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and caching systems (Redis, Memcached).


Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and container registries.


Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.



Good to Have:


Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure).


Familiarity with message queues / streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS).


Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).


Exposure to security best practices in distributed systems.


Education:


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
