The Person

• Lots of previous commercial development experience, with expert knowledge of a core technology
• Can take the lead on an area of a project (e.g. BE), making some architectural decisions
• Ability to mentor and guide more junior developers
• Ability to explain complicated technical concepts to non-technical people
• Up to date with the latest trends in their core technology, and expresses an interest in other areas of the tech stack

Their Responsibilities

• Focus on delivering code in PHP
• Provide inputs during technical discussions, and lead those discussions as well
• Identify areas of technical improvement within a project
• Provide support to other team members, including non-technical people (DMs, PMs)

Requirements

Core experience :

• Lots of previous commercial development experience
• With expert knowledge of PHP (Laravel) at least 2 years
• SQL (Postgres / MySQL)
• GitHub (or any other Git provider)
• Have experience in writing the test cases or TDD (Test Driven Development), using PHPUnit or PestPHP
• Focus on code quality and code review policies
• Strong understanding and implementation of deployments and rollbacks from security and disaster recovery POV
• Experience in writing

• APIs [creator and consumer]
• Laravel commands/jobs
• Authentication and Authorization (As part of the Laravel ecosystem)
• Sending transactional emails using PHP/Laravel
• Webhooks [creator and/or consumer]

Additional experience:

• Experience with CI/CD (on any cloud provider)
• Docker
• Integrating UI frameworks with any PHP framework
• Version-management of APIs (for Mobile apps)
• Postman
• Command over editor/IDE
• Localization
• APM [Application Performance Monitoring]
• Error tracking
• Logging
• Technical writing (blog/article) is an added advantage
