Operations Technology is responsible for building and operating the technology platform catering to critical business processes at Morgan Stanley including Position Keeping, Tax Processing, Settlements, Confirmations, Corporate Actions processing, and other post-trade functions. The Firm operates at scale with several million trades processed on peak volume days with activity ongoing in multiple countries and currencies across the globe. There is a great breadth of financial products that our Operations plant handles across equity and fixed income, from cash products to complex derivatives and loans.

Global Tax Technology team has significant presence in New York, Bangalore, Mumbai and Glasgow. We are organized into Agile delivery teams closely aligned with Operations product owners, and there is an opportunity to directly see the business benefit of the solutions we develop through our close partnership with our stakeholders and users. We believe in the forward momentum and progress of technology and aim to harness the very best in new technology and systems design to deliver exceptional capabilities to our businesses.
We provide solutions for Clients Tax withholding, GnL calculations, Doc management, and Tax Reporting for Wealth Management, Institutional and International businesses.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Technical development lead / architect, preferably with exposure to Cloud Architectures & public cloud offerings.
- Role requires taking ownership for end to end delivery in an Agile team setting - Requirement clarifications, Tech architecture Design, Implementation, Code reviews, Deployment, Knowledge sharing and system maintenance.
- You will have to interact directly with the users and with technologists across the firm to deliver Tax Regulatory & Strategic initiatives.
- Working closely with global delivery teams and provide overall functional support for business operations.
- Leading and mentoring developers.

Qualifications

Required Skills :
- Hands-on with 10 years experience in working in software development on distributed transactional systems, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
- Experience in the development of service-oriented architecture application with strong knowledge on Core Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Middleware (Messaging/Caching/ RESTful services), Unix/Linux Shell Scripting, junit, BDD
- Sound understanding of Object Oriented Design, Design Patterns, data structure algorithms, system resiliency, observability, scalability and performance.
- Knowledge on front end Technologies - HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Angular
- Experience with RDBMS on DB design, DB interaction with Application, writing SQLs including stored procedures
- Understanding of Cloud-based application development
- Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and effective technical designs that work well within large-scale, well-structured enterprise environments
- Excellent trouble-shooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and document the root cause of issues, and effectively communicate possible resolutions
- Experience on Agile & Devops development practices
- Effective communication and presentation skills
Other Desired Skills:
- Knowledge on Kafka, Python
- Exposure to functional/business knowledge about Tax Withholding & Reporting
- Experience of leading and mentoring developers.
