About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer - API Architect to define and lead the API strategy for our modular platform. The role involves driving API design, governance, and long-term stability across internal teams and external customers. This position suits someone who thinks system-wide, understands integration at scale, and can set strong standards for API development.

Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end API architecture, governance, and versioning strategy.

Design stable, scalable internal and customer-facing APIs.

Define API standards, OpenAPI specifications, and contract testing practices.

Work closely with Product, QA, and DevOps to ensure security, reliability, and quality.

Introduce and maintain tooling for API documentation, testing, and monitoring.

Ensure backward compatibility and long-term API lifecycle stability.

Mentor engineers and review API designs across multiple teams.

Skills & Qualifications

6+ years of experience in backend engineering.

3+ years of hands-on ownership in API design and architecture.

Strong expertise in REST APIs; experience with GraphQL or gRPC is a plus.

Experience working with API gateways, CI/CD systems, and observability tools.

Deep understanding of API security practices such as OAuth2 and JWT.

Hands-on coding experience in Go, Java, or Python.

Strong communication skills and ability to think at a system-wide architectural level.
