Job Summary:

CGI is looking for an experienced Java Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Java 17, Spring Boot, and microservices-based APIs. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with Kafka, MongoDB, and containerized deployments on OpenShift or similar platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications in a DevOps-driven environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java 17 and Spring Boot (Spring 5). Integrate with event-driven systems using Kafka, JMS, or MQ. Develop data access layers using MongoDB and other NoSQL/SQL data stores. Implement asynchronous and reactive programming for real-time event handling. Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and OpenShift Container Platform. Participate in CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps. Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure robust build, deployment, and monitoring processes. Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following best practices, code reviews, and unit/integration testing. Troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, and contribute to system stability. Stay updated with emerging technologies in the Java and cloud ecosystem.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong Core Java (Java 17) programming skills with focus on performance and scalability. Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Framework (Spring 5), Spring Data, and Spring Security. Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices. Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka, JMS, or IBM MQ. Working knowledge of MongoDB and experience designing schema for NoSQL databases. Experience with Docker containers and deployments on OpenShift or Kubernetes. Proficiency with Git for version control and experience in CI/CD processes. Exposure to DevOps tools (Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, SonarQube, Nexus, etc.). Solid understanding of design patterns, microservice architecture, and distributed systems. Experience in agile development and familiarity with cloud-native practices.


Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Communication and leadership abilities.
