Role Summary
Sophos engineers are working on cloud based next generation management, reporting and telemetry solutions of the Sophos security products using microservices architecture. As a member of the development team, you will work on prototyping new cloud solutions as well as build the production ready complete cloud solutions.
The most suitable candidate would be one having a combination of working experience in both cloud/AWS and managed switch/routers/firewall technology.
What you will do

• Be able to interact with product managers to define the feature and write clear functional specs
• Work with the frontend team to define the API contracts for the backend services
• Work on critical field escalations and drive closure
• Work on prototypes that are pre-cursors to features on the product roadmap

What you will bring

• 6 - 8 years of relevant experience with software development
• Proficiency in Java and Spring boot framework
• Strong design skills using principles of reuse, modularity, scale, etc
• Strong understanding of Data Structures and algorithms
• Good understanding of, Microservice architecture, AWS cloud infrastructure, terraform, SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies.
• Working knowledge of network stack and different networking protocols are preferred (e.g., Ethernet, TCP/IP, HTTP, VPN, BGP)
• Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related field)
