You'll be part of McKinsey's Tech Ecosystem function, which is responsible for developing and delivering all technology solutions for the firm's internal use.


Based in one of our global offices, you'll work on engineering challenges that are critical to the firm's success.


As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing impactful AI-driven solutions by collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and product managers within a product team. Your responsibilities will include writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining application code using core technologies, while also tackling complex technical challenges to shape the evolution of internal products and platforms.


By staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends--such as cloud, security, automation, and AI--you will apply these insights to build robust, future-ready solutions, all while working with a global, cross-functional team to drive innovation and deliver meaningful impact across the firm.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS


8+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in a fast-paced, agile environment Frontend engineering experience using JavaScript and/or TypeScript with a focus on React.js (Next.js experience is a plus), including server- and server- side rendering, styling and theming, working with databases, & server-actions (Next.js) Knowledge of asynchronous communication protocols and experience implementing streaming patterns (e.g., SSE, WebSockets) Familiarity with Node.js for build tooling, full-stack development, or integrating server-side rendering Experience with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Podman) * Experience leveraging AI code assistants or utilizing AI-driven engineering workflows to boost productivity and code quality (experience is a plus)
