Summary Software development for High level Telecom software application for Telecom assets management.
o SW development on standard HP servers with Red-Hat Linux
o Development of API and Web services for implementation of new full Web-HMI client interface
o Development of SNMP based application to interact and manage telecom assets



Context:

Proactive telecom network management requires the correlation of data across many layers of asset\xe2\x80\x99s telecom network to generate situational information for operational decisions.

GE\xe2\x80\x99s Sentinel application delivers a management solution for supervising these multi-technology complex networks. Providing a platform that aggregates, correlates and visualizes telecom data from multiple network layers and technologies into user-oriented views, driving operational decisions to restore services, notify users of potential service impacts and meet KPIs and performance metrics.

Responsibilities & Duties

Responsible for SW features design and development, including unit testing of features before delivery (iterative development: Agile/Scrum).

The SW developer is also responsible for the active contribution to the:

• Iterative development of the features in a timely way according to Projects scope/schedule deliveries.
• Technical specifications and conception justification documentations writing
• Monitor asset performance through local storage and Predix
• Automatic discovery of corporate assets and main configuration
• Cyber security monitoring through Syslog support
• Support functionalities made available to web UI user instead of script running (e.g. server backup/restore)
• Architecture review to optimize for performance and future development
• Bug fixing of the current release related to database handling.

Education

Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science or \xe2\x80\x9cSTEM\xe2\x80\x9d Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

Experience:

Software developer for high level applications on telecom network environment for at least more than 5 years.

Skills and Knowledge:

• TechStack: Java, Javascript, SQL, JQuery, SNMP4J, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, NetConf, SNMP Protocol
• Operating systems: Must have a proven record of software development in Linux environment.
• API: SOAP, REST
• Database: PostGreSQL, Stored Procedures
• Server: Jetty, Tomcat
• Build tools: Gradle, Maven, Ant
• Debugging strategies/analysis with appropriate tools is key
• (nice to have) Telecom NMS: FCAPS Management, CI/CD and Docker containers
• Continuous integration with Build system (TeamCity, Jenkins, Artifactory)
• Version control system (TFS, GIT/GITHUB)
• Knowledge of collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Software Development Life Cycle, defects, tasks and test cases life cycle

Technical Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and Java coding principles.
• In depth and hands-on experience in PostgreSQL database handling with replication in application redundancy setup.
• Hands-on experience in REST on top any Open source library, SQL Database such as PostgreSQL , SQL-Server, Oracle, etc.
• Big plus: experience with SNMP protocol implementation in Java and Telecom NMS FCAPS management.

• Strong problem solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
• Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems
• Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks
• Evangelizes how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective
