We are looking for a seasoned

Debian Packaging Specialist

with expertise in maintaining stability and efficiency across Debian package builds to join our Linux Sieve Guards team.


This role requires deep technical understanding of Debian packaging, manual intervention in package builds, and the implementation of strategic solutions to enhance reliability.

Responsibilities

Work with Debian packaging to ensure consistent functionality and performance Comprehend the Debian release pipeline to sustain seamless workflows Modify and analyze C, C++, Python, Go, Rust, Ocaml, or Perl code for lightweight patch application and adjustments Apply or remove lightweight patches in line with evolving code bases under peer review Write clear and effective documentation for widespread technical challenges and solutions Utilize git to identify and integrate upstream patches into lightweight patch workflows

Requirements

6 to 10 years of professional software engineering experience Understanding of Debian packaging and release pipeline Ability to modify programming languages including C, C++, and Python, alongside occasional work in Go, Rust, Ocaml, and Perl Proficiency in git for patch identification and integration Background in creating high-quality documentation tailored to technical issues
