Job Purpose:
The role bearer has the responsibility to coordinate, control and manage the quality and efforts of the development team to ensure it aligns with the business operations team. The role holder is expected to encourage, teach and enforce strict adherence to key development processes that directly impact the efficiency, stability and scalability of the system.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Drive engineering teams to converge towards SecDevops best practices around cloud native applications, Kubernetes and other SaaS / IaaS platforms.
Collaborate with business analysts in clearing points of confusion, project scope, identifying short falls of business requirements / user stories.
Develop action plans to address areas needing improvement.
Provide support to business units and ensure that stakeholders are well informed of the progress as well as of the risks.
Ensure that the team adheres to policies and procedures that are compliant with bank and regulatory policies.
Champion the CI / CD methodology and tooling, which will include the containerized and non-containerized applications, using Jenkins, ArgoCD, goCD etc.
Continuously be on the look out for emerging technologies, trends, threats and key challenges in underlying technologies, and plan and provide inputs on impact on the Bank.
Provide technical leadership and direction to the team and stakeholder.
Collaborate with other SRE- s, L2/Support and Developers in the deployment and scaling of new product features to facilitate rapid iteration and massive growth.
Develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor production applications in a large-scale Linux environment.
Proven experience in Linux systems administration.
Knowledge in Infrastructure as Code: Ansible/Chef/Salt, Terraform, etc.
Container Orchestration: Kubernetes/Mesos/Docker Swarm.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Recommend improvements to processes and policies across the Banking business to drive operational efficiencies and high quality customer service.
Leverage in-house synergies through collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Monitor key parameters on productivity, hiring quality and attrition rates and make necessary improvements.
Champion IDFC First's customer first culture by driving the team to take up high degree servicing norms to ensure absolute customer delight.
Attract and retain best-in-class talent for key roles in their reporting structure.
