Senior Software Engineer, Agent Evaluation
As a Senior Software Engineer on our Agent Evaluation team, you will be at the forefront of building the critical infrastructure used to test and validate the performance of advanced AI Agents. You will join a fast-moving, agile environment where your Java development skills and attention to quality will be key. We are looking for a professional, hands-on developer who is passionate about building high-quality, clean, and robust software solutions to ensure our AI systems are reliable, safe, and effective. You will report to the Director of AI Engineering.
You Will:

• Take ownership of designing, coding, and delivering high-quality backend services and RESTful APIs for the agent evaluation platform.
• Produce well-structured, readable, and maintainable code in Java that adheres to the highest standards of software craftsmanship.
• Drive a culture of quality by writing comprehensive automated tests (JUnit, etc.) to ensure the reliability of our platform.
• Collaborate with experts in Machine Learning (ML), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Authentication/Authorization (AuthN/AuthZ) to translate their requirements into production-ready code.
• Take features from concept to deployment, contributing to the entire software development lifecycle.
• Tackle challenging technical problems and contribute to a backlog of features that are critical to the team's success.

You Have:

• A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 17+ preferred) and experience building backend applications.
• Proven ability to write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, with extensive experience in automated testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit).
• Experience building RESTful APIs and a strong understanding of web service architecture.
• A professional, diligent work ethic with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

You Have an Advantage If:

• You have experience with modern, cloud-native Java frameworks such as Helidon, Quarkus, Micronaut, or Spring Boot.
• You have hands-on experience with Elasticsearch.
• You are familiar with containerization technologies like Docker and container build tools like Jib.
• You have experience with building tools like Gradle or Maven.
• You are familiar with putting ML or RAG models into a production environment.
• You have experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
