The Opportunity:
We are looking for Versatile, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale and implement advanced automation tools leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance our Release Management function. This role is critical to optimizing and streamlining the release process, ensuring smooth, efficient, and error-free deployments across test and production environments.
As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that will automate and speed up software release. You will lead hands-on development of innovative AI-driven automation solutions, from proof of concept (POC) through to deployment and maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a deep understanding of software development lifecycles, and a commitment to collaborative problem solving and quality product delivery.
The Work itself:

• Design, develop, and maintain AI-powered automation tools that enhance and streamline the release management lifecycle while shaping internal standards for scalability, reliability, and reusability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Release Management, DevOps, and Development teams to gather requirements and translate them into innovative technical solutions.
• Build robust, scalable automation frameworks that seamlessly integrate with existing CI/CD pipelines and release orchestration systems.
• Conduct proofs of concept (POCs) and prototype AI-driven features to optimize release scheduling, risk analysis, and anomaly detection.
• Leverage Generative AI technologies to advance software development practices--enabling intelligent code generation, optimization, and automated testing.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation, user guides, and reference material for newly developed tools.
• Participate actively in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure exceptional product quality and reliability.
• Demonstrate adaptability and proactive problem-solving skills to meet evolving project priorities and business goals.
• Stay informed about emerging AI technologies and best practices relevant to release automation and continuous delivery.
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence--driving adoption of continuous integration, secure coding, thorough code review, code coverage, code quality metrics, and early-stage validation ("shift-left") approaches.
• Identify opportunities for enhancement across standards, processes, and systems to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.

• Demonstrates in-depth technical proficiency to accurately interpret and address project requirements related to AI-driven release automation.
• Contributes to the design and development of advanced automation solutions that improve usability, performance, and functionality across multiple release and deployment ecosystems.
• Applies industry-standard software engineering practices and programming skills (e.g., Python, Java, or relevant scripting languages) to build reliable automation and integration components.
• Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to pilot and validate new technology capabilities that elevate release orchestration and operational efficiency.
• Analyzes and resolves technical issues--applying debugging tools and AI-based diagnostic methods to validate system assumptions and maintain stability.
• Supports ongoing innovation by developing scalable, maintainable, and efficient systems aligned with organizational objectives and global technology standards.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

• 4+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors Degree or with an Advanced Degree
• Experience: 3+ years of Full Stack Java Development in a containerized microservices architecture using Java/Spring Boot, with strong UI/UX development experience in React JS
• Strong proficiency in Java (version 8 or above), Python, Spring Boot, React.js, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, MySQL, and MongoDB
• Working knowledge of generative AI models and tools (e.g., GPT, Llama, Claude, Copilot for Microsoft 365, Anthropic) and familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP)
• Solid understanding of System Design principles, including both LLD and HLD
• Good to have experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau
• Hands-on familiarity with Jira for project and issue tracking
• Comprehensive understanding of the Release Management process
• Practical experience with ServiceNow automation workflows
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, or equivalents)
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC)
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, to ensure secure coding practices
• Demonstrated capability in managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with ambiguous or evolving requirements
• Experience navigating diverse internal development processes, including cybersecurity and operations integration (O&I)
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies
