We seek a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design testing strategies and frameworks. The role focuses on Akamai's Enterprise Application Access (EAA) platform, enabling secure internal application access. EAA eliminates traditional VPN weaknesses by preventing exposure to the internet while ensuring seamless functionality for users.
Partner with the best
The Zero Trust Security SDET team secures and scales Akamai's next-generation access products. Responsibilities involve designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks. Simulate customer scenarios in distributed environments. Collaborate with development, product, and QA teams to evaluate system performance. Assess scale, stress, and edge-case conditions across hybrid deployments, including on-premises, cloud, and Akamai's global edge network.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:

• Establishing and guiding test architecture for microservices, distributed systems, hybrid deployments across cloud, edge, on-prem.
• Driving design and development of scalable test automation frameworks across UI, APIs, workflows, ensuring exceptional quality.
• Guiding junior SDETs, promoting best practices, continuous learning, and a robust quality engineering culture.
• Creating and maintaining test infrastructure mirroring customer deployments, integrating SSO, MFA, secure tunnels, connectors.
• Validating identity flows, enforcing policies, securing application delivery using Akamai's global edge and advanced platforms.
• Collaborating with product teams, engineers, shaping strategies; improving frameworks, integrating CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Docker.

Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:

• 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent
• Demonstrate advanced expertise in Python, designing scalable test frameworks with emphasis on automation and quality.
• Utilize Jenkins, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines within Linux environments to ensure seamless delivery processes.
• Demonstrate expertise in networking and security protocols like TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SSL, SSO, SAML, Zero Trust.
• Demonstrate exceptional debugging abilities and systems-level problem-solving expertise, identifying root causes and delivering solutions.
• Drive collaboration across diverse teams, influencing product quality strategies, fostering improvement, and achieving organizational success.
• Work with Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud platforms, observability, performance testing, Postman, PyTest, databases, secure access technologies.
