About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to serve as the lead engineer driving the architecture, design, and development of our next-generation logistics and transportation management solutions. You'll own full-stack feature development across Django, PostgreSQL, HTMX, and Django REST Framework -- ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance in a mission-critical enterprise environment.

As the senior technical leader on our engineering team, you'll collaborate closely with product, operations, and integration teams to deliver software that streamlines transportation management, optimizes carrier visibility, and improves data-driven decision-making across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Lead design and development of high-performance backend systems using Django, PostgreSQL, and Django REST Framework. Build modern, dynamic front-end interactions using HTMX and Alpine.js (no heavy SPA frameworks). Architect scalable APIs and integrations for TMS, ERP, and carrier systems. Implement robust data models, process automation, and analytics pipelines supporting operational efficiency. Review code, enforce best practices, and mentor junior developers on the team. Collaborate with operations and product teams to translate logistics business requirements into elegant technical solutions. Ensure system performance, security, and maintainability in enterprise-scale deployments. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps initiatives. Participate in solution architecture and long-term technical planning.

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of professional software development experience. 6+ years working with Django and PostgreSQL in production environments. Expertise in Django REST Framework, HTMX, and modern web architecture patterns. Strong knowledge of software design principles, API design, and systems integration. Experience developing enterprise-grade or large-scale web applications. Proficiency in Git-based workflows, code reviews, and Agile methodologies. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business logic into clean, maintainable code. Strong communication and leadership skills -- capable of guiding technical direction and mentoring others.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience building supply chain, logistics, or transportation management systems (TMS). Familiarity with EDI, API, or data exchange protocols in logistics ecosystems. Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud deployment (AWS, Azure). Knowledge of data visualization or reporting frameworks (Power BI, Metabase, etc.).
