Family Description

Applied R&D (AR) consists of target-oriented research either with the goal of solving a particular problem / answering a specific question or for multi-discipline design, development, and implementation of hardware, software, and systems including maintenance support. Supplies techno-economic consulting to clients. AR work is characterised by its detailed and complex nature in order to systematically combine existing knowledge and practices to further developing and incrementally improving products, operational processes, and customer-specific feature development.

Subfamily Description

R&D Architecture (RDA) comprises capturing of business, operational, technical, and / or non functional requirements from the stakeholders and the delivery of an architecture to meet the defined needs and constraints. Contains processing of use case and feature requirements into conceptual models, operational scenarios, technical requirements, and functional descriptions. RDA has a broad system and product architecture competence and ecosystem understanding.

Key responsibilities:

• Software Architecture, design and Development in cloud native architecture.
• Software Code review of the existing code for optimization.
• Able to work with both structured and unstructured data sources.
• Develop, test, and maintain new and existing solutions in Agile.
• Able to prioritize and estimate work packages based on clear rationale.
• Work in DevOps mode and provide production support post go live.
• Participates in prototyping, pilots and PoC creation.
• Inspect and verify and refactor the quality of packages before release.
• Assist in creation of technical documentation.
• Supports solution deployments using cloud native tools.

Major Skills Required:

• Architectural Leadership: Provide strategic direction and technical guidance to the architecture team. Drive the development of customer network and service architectures, ensuring they align with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Technical Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge and 12 years of hands-on experience in Java, NodeJS, ReactJS, Material UI, Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, and other relevant technologies. Champion performance optimization techniques, database concepts, and real-time rating methodologies.
• Database Optimization: Implement advanced techniques for optimizing database performance, specifically focusing on Redis and PostgreSQL. Explore concepts such as indexing, query optimization, caching strategies, and data partitioning to enhance overall system efficiency.
• Redis Expertise: Demonstrate mastery in Redis, including its data structures, persistence mechanisms, and clustering configurations. Utilize Redis to its fullest potential, employing strategies like shading and replication for fault tolerance and scalability.
• PostgreSQL Proficiency: Leverage in-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL, including its advanced features like partitioning, indexing methods, and query optimization. Implement best practices for database schema design, ensuring seamless data storage and retrieval.
• Real-time Data Processing: Develop innovative solutions for real-time data processing using Redis and PostgreSQL. Implement efficient data pipelines, enabling rapid ingestion, processing, and analysis of streaming data.
• Multi-Technology Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in various technologies including Kubernetes, and cloud agnostic solutions. Champion the implementation of cloud-native architectures, ensuring seamless integration with hosted environments and 3rd party solutions.
• CI/CD Designs & Implementation: Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring efficient delivery and deployment of architectural solutions. Foster a culture of automation and rapid iteration within the architectural team.
• Cross-Domain Expertise: Possess a broad understanding of IT/Telco network architecture, spanning various network and operational domains. Expertise in the Transport domain is an added advantage, enhancing the holistic architectural perspective.
• IoT Connectivity Management: Has understanding of IoT Connectivity Management features, OSS/BSS interfaces & protocols, and experience in designing new features within the BSS domain. Proficiency in integrating IoT solutions with Communication Service Providers and core components.
  

Knowledge & Experience

• Hands-on experience with Java, NodeJS, ReactJS, Material UI, Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, and related technologies.
• Proven experience in IoT Connectivity Management, BSS domain, and integration with core components.
• Strong understanding of database concepts, performance optimization, and real-time rating methodologies
• Experience in End-to-End Solution design on a global scale for a multi country multi-site network.
• Experience of creating solutions in the IOT space with experience in Core networks (HLR/HSS, PGW, PCRF, AAA), LPWA, NBIoT & BSS (Rating, Billing, Mediation and Reporting)
• Experience of solutioning to leverage hosted and cloud environments and 3rd party solutions.
• Experience of various IOT verticals and use cases and the impacts the drive into solution design.
• Experience in the Transport domain.
• Exceptional technical leadership & problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
