Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer

The Role: We are looking for a talented Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to work within one of our Product teams, partnering with team members from Product, Design and Engineering. You will have a strong collaborative background, focusing on working with multidisciplinary teams, to develop and support our core key platform You should be comfortable and skilled with

challenging the status quo and relish the idea of solving hard problems through deep collaboration with Customers and cross functional teams.

You will tackle interesting, novel situations every day and you\xe2\x80\x99ll have the opportunity to partner with multiple product teams at Morningstar in order to deliver exceptional service to the

Wealth Platform business.

As an SRE in our engineering and data teams, you will build a world class financial services experience for investors and financial advisers. You will provide support to our core platform

(largely SQL Server / VB.net based). You will be responsible for making changes based on business and customer needs. You will be required to support the platform during a key

business process overnight (up to 2 nights per week), you will be able to perform this working from home, and there is flexibility on working hours. You will work closely with the wider team

and with our operational teams to ensure the health of the platform ready for next day trading You will have the freedom and encouragement to experiment, improve, invent, and innovate

on behalf of our customers. You will have the satisfaction of being able to deliver value to customers in a fast-paced, iterative environment, as well as look back and say you were a big part

of something truly innovative from the earliest stages. You will have a direct impact on our products, technologies and the future of investing. You will be part of a team of creative, topnotch team of architects, who work hard, have fun, and are true pioneers in our industry

Our Technology stack is primarily built on a Microsoft .Net stack, with an Angular front end, hosted on Azure and leverages elements of the Power Platform and BusApps stack. But we are

continually looking to innovate and enhance this for the future. We will, of course, be looking at Machine Learning and AI over time.

Responsibilities:

Working in cross functional teams with engineering, product, and design colleagues to design scalable, maintainable enterprise data products, which solve complex customer and business problems

• Build and maintain low latency, high performance, scalable systems in a polyglot architecture

• Perform deep dives into both systemic and latent reliability issues

• Provide overnight support to the core trading platform

• Enforce best practices for metrics gathering, monitoring, and alerting

• Undertake change requests and development against the core platform

• Bug fix and fault find in a supportive, collaborative environment

• Ensure new development adheres to architectural guidelines

• We are passionate about supporting a learning culture across our teams, mentoring team members to leverage best engineering practices, tooling and methods

• Attending and contributing at all relevant team events and ceremonies

Requirements:

• Experience and passion for Databases, automation and performance optimisation

• Fast and Curious learner, with a restless curiosity for developing platforms and optimising to continually improve performance

• Experience of supporting large scale platforms

• Strong SQL development experience

• Strong .Net experience

• Experience of developing and undertaking daily platform health checks (experience with splunk desirable)

• Ability to look holistically at opportunities to understand the implications for a multitude of stakeholders

• Experience and understanding of Agile Development methodologies, including Scrum.

• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, with Machine learning/ AI modelling is useful however not mandated
