Senior Site Engineer - Civil (Road Construction Projects)

The Senior Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing on-site construction activities for road and highway projects, ensuring work is executed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and supervise day-to-day site operations for road construction projects, including earthworks, subgrade, sub-base, base course, asphalt paving, drainage, and associated structures. Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project schedules. Coordinate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, surveyors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of works. Monitor site progress, productivity, and workmanship, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. Review construction drawings, method statements, and work procedures prior to execution. Plan and allocate manpower, materials, equipment, and machinery efficiently to meet project targets. Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks; ensure corrective actions are implemented when required. Enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and promote safe working practices on site. Resolve technical and construction-related issues promptly to minimize delays. Coordinate setting out, leveling, and alignment works with the survey team. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports. Verify quantities, measurements, and completed works for subcontractor and client billing. Maintain proper site documentation, including inspection reports, as-built drawings, and records. Guide and supervise junior engineers, supervisors, and site staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Minimum

5+ years of experience

in civil construction, specifically in

road and highway projects

. Strong knowledge of road construction methods, materials, and quality standards.
