The Azure DPU Silicon team designs and delivers custom Data Processing Units (DPUs) that accelerate Azure's compute, storage, and networking infrastructure. These advanced SoCs integrate programmable compute, high-speed networking, and memory subsystems, forming the hardware foundation for the next generation of cloud efficiency, security, and performance.
We're looking for experienced Design Verification Engineers who are passionate about solving complex hardware challenges at hyperscale. You'll join a cross-functional team of architects, designers, and verification experts working together to ensure first-silicon success for some of the most sophisticated chips in the cloud industry.
Qualifications
6+ years of related technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience or internship experience
OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience or internship experience
OR Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
6+ years of experience in pre-silicon validation with a proven track record of delivering high performance Network switches/accelarators, Central Processing Unit (CPU), Vector processors and Graphics Processing Unit (GPU's) or relevant experience.
Experience in UVM/C verification methodology

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven track record with the definition and development of complex SoCs. In depth understanding of processors and peripheral interconnect bus protocols and architectures
Responsibilities
What you'll doDefine and execute block and subsystem-level verification strategy for DPU IPs
Develop System Verilog UVM testbenches, environments, and reusable components
Create constrained-random and directed tests, assertions, and functional coverage
Collaborate closely with architecture, RTL design, and post-silicon validation teams
Drive improvements in verification methodology, automation, and debug efficiency
Contribute to system-level validation and co-simulation with software and firmware teams
What we're looking for5-12 years of experience in ASIC/SoC design verification
Strong proficiency in System Verilog and UVM methodology
Solid understanding of computer architecture, networking, or memory subsystems
Experience with high-speed I/O (PCIe, Ethernet) or NIC/acceleration pipelines preferred
Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with strong technical ownership
