This role requires close collaboration with content, design, and development teams to ensure SEO best practices are consistently applied across all digital channels.
Key ResponsibilitiesOn-Page Optimization
Conduct comprehensive website audits and identify optimization opportunities
Optimize web pages, blogs, and landing pages for targeted keywords and search intent
Implement best practices for meta tags, header tags, schema markup, alt text, and internal linking
Collaborate with content writers to produce SEO-friendly, high-quality content
Improve site structure, crawlability, and overall user experience
Monitor Core Web Vitals, site speed, and mobile responsiveness
Track keyword rankings and optimize performance on a regular basis
Off-Page Optimization
Develop and execute link-building strategies (guest posting, outreach, PR backlinks)
Build and maintain relationships with relevant websites, influencers, and publishers
Monitor backlink profiles and perform regular backlink audits
Identify and remove toxic or low-quality links
Analyze competitors' backlink strategies and identify new growth opportunities
Technical SEO
Work closely with the development team to resolve crawling, indexing, and technical SEO issues
Monitor and manage XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical tags, and redirects
Optimize website architecture for improved indexing and ranking
Conduct periodic technical SEO audits and ensure best practices are followed
Keyword Strategy & Analytics
Perform in-depth keyword research for short-tail and long-tail keywords
Map keywords strategically to content and landing pages
Track keyword performance and analyze trends using analytics tools
Prepare detailed SEO performance reports covering traffic, rankings, and conversions
Team Management
Lead, mentor, and guide junior and mid-level SEO executives
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure timely delivery
Conduct training sessions on SEO tools, techniques, and algorithm updates
Coordinate with content, design, and development teams for SEO execution
Review team reports and provide constructive feedback
Reporting & Strategy
Present monthly SEO performance and progress reports to management
Recommend and implement data-driven strategies for continuous improvement
Stay updated with Google algorithm changes, SEO tools, and digital marketing trends
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Growth in organic website traffic
Improvement in keyword rankings (Top 10 / Top 3 positions)
Increase in domain authority and organic conversions
Timely completion of SEO audits and optimization tasks
Overall team performance and quality of deliverables
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, IT, Communications, or a related field
4-7 years of proven SEO experience (agency or in-house)
Strong expertise in on-page, off-page, and technical SEO
Hands-on experience with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Moz, etc.
Familiarity with CMS platforms like WordPress, Shopify, and Magento
Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and junior SEO team management abilities
Preferred Skills
Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for SEO implementation
Experience with Local SEO, eCommerce SEO, and International SEO
Understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) and analytics tracking
