The Senior Security Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the mall premises, staff, tenants, and visitors. The role includes supervising the security team, conducting regular briefings and training sessions, maintaining discipline, and implementing effective security protocols in coordination with mall management and local authorities.
Key Responsibilities:1. Leadership & Supervision
Lead and manage the entire mall security team including supervisors, guards, and control room staff.
Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate manpower deployment at all entry, exit, and critical points.
Monitor performance, discipline, and grooming standards of all security staff.
2. Briefing & Training
Conduct
daily security briefings
to communicate duties, updates, and instructions clearly to all team members.
Organize
regular training sessions
on:
Emergency response and evacuation drills
Fire safety and first aid
Customer service and public dealing etiquette
Handling suspicious activity and theft prevention
Mall-specific SOPs and incident reporting procedures
Evaluate the effectiveness of training and refresh knowledge periodically.
3. Security Operations
Ensure smooth operation of all security systems including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
Supervise crowd control during weekends, events, and peak hours.
Coordinate with housekeeping and parking teams for smooth visitor movement.
Handle lost & found, shoplifting, and other incidents professionally.
4. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain incident reports, visitor logs, and daily security reports.
Conduct regular audits of security posts and equipment.
Submit weekly and monthly reports to mall management on security performance and improvements.
5. Emergency & Crisis Management
Develop and update emergency response plans.
Lead the team during fire alarms, medical emergencies, or security threats.
Liaise with police, fire, and emergency services when required.
6. Training & Professional Development
Identify skill gaps among the security team and arrange focused training.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and mall policies.
Motivate the team to maintain a high standard of vigilance and professionalism.
Qualifications & Experience:
Graduate or equivalent; ex-serviceman preferred.
Minimum
5-8 years of experience
in mall / hotel / corporate security operations, with at least
2-3 years in a senior supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of security systems, fire safety, and crowd management.
Excellent communication, leadership, and team-handling skills.
