Senior Section Engineer - Power Supply & Traction (PST)
. Operation & Maintenance
Supervise operation and maintenance of 33 kV / 25 kV traction substations, auxiliary substations, and DC traction equipment.
Ensure smooth functioning of traction power supply for rolling stock operation.
Monitor SCADA systems, troubleshoot alarms, and coordinate power restoration during failures.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, protection relays, and switchgear equipment.
Coordinate with OCC (Operation Control Centre) for load management and shutdowns.
2. Technical Supervision
Supervise engineers, technicians, and contractors during maintenance or testing.
Review maintenance schedules, checklists, and test reports for accuracy and compliance.
Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to OEM and metro standards.
Verify work permits, isolation procedures, and earthing practices before energization.
3. Safety & Compliance
Enforce adherence to electrical safety procedures, lockout-tagout (LOTO) systems, and earthing protocols.
Ensure compliance with electrical codes, railway standards, and statutory regulations.
Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for team members.
Report and investigate any power supply incidents or equipment failures.
4. Asset Management & Documentation
Maintain asset history records, maintenance logs, and defect reports.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on traction system performance.
Assist in asset condition monitoring and reliability improvement initiatives.
Maintain spares inventory and ensure timely procurement.
5. Coordination
Liaise with Rolling Stock, Signalling, and O&M teams for integrated system coordination.
Support project and commissioning teams during new equipment installation or system upgrades.
Coordinate with external agencies during high-voltage testing, shutdowns, or audits.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 5-8 years (for Diploma holders) or 3-5 years (for Degree holders) in power supply, traction, or high-voltage system maintenance -- preferably in Metro Rail, Railways, or Heavy Industry.
Strong knowledge of 33 kV/25 kV traction and auxiliary power systems.
Expertise in SCADA operations and power system protection.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Team supervision and vendor coordination skills.
Safety-conscious with good analytical and troubleshooting ability.

Pay: ₹44,429.73 - ₹45,000.65 per month
