Senior Scientist ICRISAT seeks applications from dynamic and professional scientific personnel for the position of \' Senior Scientist\'. The selected candidate be working very closely with the Global Research Program Director, Resilient Farm and Food Systems to support the Carbon Farming and also to assist in scientific documentation, reporting, and other related aspects across regions. The position is based at Headquarters in Patancheru, Telangana. RolesandResponsibilities: To collect detailed information on approaches to optimizing carbon capture on working landscapes by implementing different agricultural practices To estimate the potential of carbon sequestration and implications on greenhouse gases under different soil, crop, and water management of agricultural systems Economic analysis of interventions to enhance soil carbon and reduce greenhouse gas emissions To conduct a detailed and rigorous assessment of agricultural management practices with a focus on carbon farming Recommendations to reduce soil carbon emissions considering the cropping systems at different locations Conceptualization, ideation, execution of strategic planning for outreach, scouting,evaluating,selection,andon-boardingofqualityandinnovativeideas Liaise with different stakeholders and undertake other project related task as assigned by the supervisor Document all complied data/information generated during the project tenure Prepare project proposals, scientific report writing, training modules, resource books, guidance documents,brochures, research articlesetc Developanddesignmonthly/quarterly/annualprojectreportsfordonor\' s submissions Sharing knowledge among the team in context with research and planning of events to ensure the most appropriate andcost-effectivesolutioninlinewithprojectneedsandbudget constraints Supportteaminprojectimplementationanddocumentation Requirements: Candidate with PhD in Environmental Science or any related field with a minimum 10 years\' experience of which at least five years in an international agriculture organization Track record of scientific publications and related aspects. Strong communication skills, Experience working across various teams and functions, and working directly with and supporting research and/or program delivery teams Ability to effectively manage and coordinate with geographically dispersed teams Ability to analyze and synthesize information and strong attention to detail Willingness and ability to regularly travel within the regions Outstanding people skills Strong ability to communicate constructively across culturally diverse teams and contribute to a pleasant work environment Hands-on problem-solving with strong analytical abilities.
