Brief Job Overview
This is a professional, highly technical, non-supervisory position that supports the food ingredients program unit team (PUT) within USP's Global Science and Standards Division (GSSD). The incumbent reports to a local management position at the India site as well as functionally reporting to a management position in the Foods PUT in the US. The incumbent will support the development and technical stewardship of Food Chemicals Codex (FCC) standards, other scientific products, outreach and awareness (in India, US, and internationally), and internal strategic initiatives. These activities require the ability to identify and critically evaluate published information on chemical analysis of food ingredients, regulatory and safety reviews of foods, and data and supplier documents to support development of standards and guidance documents. The successful candidate may develop proposals, coordinate, and lead specific technical studies related to food analysis. The incumbent may present technical talks to academics, the food industry, and regulators to advocate for the work of the program, to solicit feedback, and to support program goals related to awareness and capacity building. The incumbent will work collaboratively with industry stakeholders, the Food Ingredients Expert Committee, the PUT, and other USP program units and departments.
