We are seeking a mission-driven, data-savvy, and field-oriented Senior Manager - Marketing & Sales to lead Rural marketing section and contribute to scaling our rural clean energy sales operations across India.
This role requires end-to-end management of sales systems, supply chain coordination, partner engagement, and team leadership for distributed on-ground sales agents (Solar Sakhis & Ground Coordinators). The ideal candidate will bring both strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to drive rural solar market penetration and sustainable community enterprise growth.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
Lead regional and national sales planning and oversee implementation across geographies.
Develop annual and quarterly sales roadmaps aligned with organizational goals and community needs.
Support Solar Sakhis and field teams with tools, training, and coaching to meet sales objectives.
Design and deploy product bundling, referral programs, and incentive strategies to deepen market reach.
Rural Marketing & Market Activation
Lead the design and execution of rural marketing strategies, including seasonal campaigns, local outreach, and community engagement.
Activate underperforming markets using tailored strategies--demo kits, events, collaterals, and local influencer networks.
Forge partnerships with SHGs, NGOs, and other community institutions to support rural outreach and expansion.
Data-Driven Sales Enablement
Utilize data from the Sakhi App, CRM, and MIS platforms to optimize field operations and sales performance.
Conduct regular performance reviews and synthesise data into actionable insights for internal stakeholders.
Track customer behavior, product adoption, and regional trends to inform strategic planning.
Supply Chain & Operations
Coordinate with operations and logistics to ensure timely availability of stock across all field locations.
Address bottlenecks and maintain real-time alignment between demand and supply.
Contribute to forecasting and inventory planning based on evolving market needs.
Team & Network Development
Manage and mentor a growing network of field-based sales staff, including Solar Sakhis and coordinators.
Institutionalize training programs focused on product knowledge, digital literacy, and customer relationship management.
Build a performance-driven culture across field teams with structured incentives and feedback loops.
Strategic & Organizational Leadership
Support program expansion to new states and regions, including ecosystem development and stakeholder engagement.
Represent the marketing and sales function in meetings with donors, partners, and institutional stakeholders.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, technology, and finance teams to improve program design and scalability.
Preferred Profile
Minimum 8 years of experience in rural sales, FMCG, renewable energy, or related sectors.
Proven experience in leading large-scale field teams and grassroots distribution networks.
Strong track record of scaling sales operations and driving rural market growth.
Proficiency in CRM/MIS systems, analytics tools, and performance tracking.
Deep understanding of solar product adoption in underserved rural markets.
Excellent communication in Hindi (local dialects a plus) and working knowledge of English.
Willingness to travel extensively and stay in rural and semi-urban areas as required.
Availability for regular travel and extended stays at the Harmara base (Kishangarh, Rajasthan) and other enterprise locations.
