This role is responsible for providing technical expertise and product education to customers, supporting the sales process for complex products or services, and ensuring customer solutions are technically sound and meet their requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Sales Support:
Work closely with the sales team to understand customer needs and present
Rockwin's technical products/solutions
.
Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and technical training for prospective and existing customers.
Translate complex technical information into clear, compelling narratives for a non-technical audience.
Solution Design & Quotation:
Analyze customer specifications, perform technical calculations, and
design product configurations
or solutions that meet project requirements.
Prepare and deliver accurate technical proposals, bills of materials (BOMs), and quotations in collaboration with the commercial team.
Customer Engagement:
Act as the
primary technical contact
during the pre-sales and initial implementation phases.
Respond to RFI/RFP (Request for Information/Proposal) technical sections and manage post-sales technical issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, especially with technical stakeholders and procurement teams in the Chennai territory.
Market & Product Intelligence:
Stay updated on
industry trends
, competitor products, and new technology developments relevant to Rockwin's offerings.
Provide feedback to the product development and marketing teams regarding customer needs and product feature requests.
Target Achievement:
Support the achievement of sales targets and objectives by advancing sales opportunities through technical validation and expertise.
?Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in
Engineering
(Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related field) is mandatory.
Experience:
Minimum of
3-5 years of proven experience
as a Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Representative, or Applications Engineer.
Prior experience in selling
complex industrial equipment, machinery, technical solutions, or components
is highly desirable.
Technical Knowledge:
In-depth technical knowledge of the products/industry relevant to Rockwin (e.g., pumps, valves, automation, precision components, etc., based on Rockwin's domain).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Core Skills:
Excellent
presentation and communication skills
(verbal and written) in English. Knowledge of
Tamil
is a significant advantage for the Chennai market.
Strong
problem-solving and analytical abilities
to match customer needs to technical solutions.
Ability to work independently, manage a sales territory, and travel within the Chennai region and surrounding areas as required.
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office Suite.
