Effective risk management involves a holistic view of various types of risks (e.g. insurance risk, operational risk, financial risk, etc.) and their interactions with each other. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) enables informed strategic thinking, better decision making, and enhances the ability of the business to respond quickly in a dynamic and challenging environment. You will be working in the Risk function for XL Insurance Company SE (XLICSE) and be based in the Gurgaon office. You will be involved in a range of Risk activities across the entity including operational risk activities, Solvency II policies, risk dashboard and the internal control framework. DISCOVER your opportunity What will your essential responsibilities include Working effectively with experienced and market leading subject matter experts (SME\'s) to support ERM processes for XLICSE. The role will involve working closely with several ERM Centers of Excellence (COE) to ensure we apply the right risk insight and methodologies and provide real challenge within our risk management processes and reporting. Oversee production of XLICSE dashboard, perform production of counterparty risk monitoring and risk appetites. Support the assessment of the operational risk through calculation of the short-term economic capital (STEC) for Operational Risk in Phoenix, adhering to AXA Group requirements. Maintain Scala for XLICSE including OPERA incidents and internal control framework output Collaborate with Head Office and Branch Risk Managers on the reporting of operational incidents, and subsequent reporting on incident data to various committees. Maintenance of libraries of required documentation in support of the operational risk module in the Internal Model (IM) and Solvency II policies. Supporting the maintenance and continuous improvement of internal control framework for XLICSE which will involve: Ensuring that key internal controls are defined, implemented, documented, assessed, and monitored in front of material risks Support and challenge the first line of defense to ensure that controls are well documented and regularly updated Perform independent testing of controls performed by first line of defense (design and operational effectiveness testing) Support on risk reporting to Risk Management, Committees, and regulators (e.g. Regular Supervisory Reporting (RSR), Solvency and Financial Condition Report (SFCR)). As part of the ERM team, identify any shortfalls in expected compliance with the emerging regulatory requirements and aid in developing plans to address any shortfalls. You will report to a senior risk manager and ultimately to the CRO. SHARE your talent We\'re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Proven experience of working in a Risk, Compliance or Internal Audit function for an insurance company is essential. Enterprise Risk Management Framework experience in a similar role. Experience in assimilating significant amounts of information for problem solving. Strong analysis skills (both quantitative and qualitative). Clear communication, written and presentation, will be important for presenting results and solutions. Thorough data interpretation skills and attention to detail are a must to ensure producing high quality, reliable analysis. You will be working in a dynamic, geographically dispersed team so you will need to be highly adaptable and comfortable both working on your own initiative and as a keen team player. Graduate degree and/or studying towards an insurance or Risk Management qualification (e.g. FRM, CFA).
