I. JOB DETAILS
Job Title
Attending Consultant-Anesthesia
Reporting Supervisor
Director
II. JOB PURPOSE
To provide & ensure direct or indirect accurate medical attention to all cases needing anesthesia before any surgical procedure. To provide high quality Pre-anesthesia, anesthesia and Post-operative anesthesia care in the hospital
III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities

• o To effectively interface with patients, technicians, nursing staff and service users.
• o To demonstrate effective application of technical & professional knowledge.
• o To ensure pre, INTRA and post operative care of all the cases done in the unit.
• o To be available for emergency calls of the O.T. & the I.C.U
• o To supervise all nursing/ para-medical & non medical staff to maintain high standards.
• o To actively participate in CME and Journal clubs & conferences.
• o To co-ordinate on matters relating to Provision of infrastructure and

maintenance support, selection of medical consumables and equipment to be procured

• o To facilitate teaching and training programs of O.T. Nurses, Technicians,

I.C.U. staff.

• o To ensure optimum utilization of resources by himself and subordinates
• o To be well groomed, punctual & adhere to company policies and practices.
• o To have complete orientation of QMS and EMS system of Hospital.
• o To have complete Awareness about Disaster Management Programme (DMP) of the hospital.
• o To Comply with the service quality Process, environmental & occupational

issues & policies of the respective area

• o To Comply with patient safety policy
• o To ensure safe utilization of equipments and proper waste disposal system.

• IV. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Measurable Deliverables

• Total support to OT - Operation
• Nil incidence in hospital borne infection in OT & Critical Care Anesthesia
• No surgery to be postponed due to non-availability of anesthetist.
• 100% statutory compliance
• TATs as per NABH & IMS guidelines.

V. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications
M.B.B.S, MD Anesthesia
Experience
Preferably with 3-4 or more years of experience.
Behavioural Skills

• Man management skills
• Good Interpersonal skills

Technical Skills

• Excellent clinical expertise for anesthesia in high risk surgeries.
• Fluent with all procedures and equipment handling
• Computer knowledge
• Good domain knowledge

Language Skills
English, Hindi & Punjabi
