Job Description

:
To provide comprehensive patient care in the field of general surgery under the supervision of consultants, manage surgical cases (OPD, IPD, OT, ICU, and emergency), and ensure smooth functioning of the surgical unit in line with hospital protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Responsibilities
Assist consultants in diagnosis, treatment, and management of surgical patients.
Perform clinical assessment, pre-operative work-up, and post-operative care of patients.
Manage OPD patients, admit cases, and carry out daily ward rounds.
Provide emergency surgical care, including trauma management and acute abdomen cases.
Assist and independently perform minor surgical procedures under supervision.
Support consultants in major surgical procedures in OT.
Ensure proper documentation of case records, operative notes, discharge summaries, and medico-legal cases.
Academic & Training
Actively participate in departmental academic sessions, CMEs, and mortality/morbidity meetings.
Train and guide junior residents, interns, and nursing staff.
Stay updated with recent advances in general surgery and related fields.
Administrative & Quality
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and NABH standards.
Maintain infection control and patient safety practices.
Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Coordinate with other specialties for multidisciplinary patient care.
Qualifications & Experience:
MBBS with MS/DNB in General Surgery (recognized by MCI/NMC).
Registered with State Medical Council / NMC.
0-3 years of post-PG experience (fresh pass-outs may also apply).
