We are looking for a Senior Researcher Senior Researcher - Systems and Cloud Intelligence, with an innovative mindset to design and develop novel machine learning and algorithmic solutions for our cloud infrastructure with a singular purpose of making them scalable, fast, reliable, and efficient.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning/systems research and the ambition to apply them to large scale production systems. Some of the challenges include optimizing placement and scheduling of dynamic workloads on distributed cloud infrastructure to improve resource utilization across compute, memory, storage, networking as well as AI hardware accelerators. The algorithms we develop must capture the complex behavior of the workloads, dynamically adapt to changing conditions, and need to be tested/implemented on production systems without compromising user experience.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research to advance the state of the art in machine learning for systems. For instance, multi-constraint optimization, bin packing, time series and causal analysis.
• Work with a small group of fellow research scientists and product engineering teams to execute practical solutions for real-world impact.
• Driving the end-to-end research agenda from establishing the problem definition to building algorithms, tools, and models.
• Publish and contribute to top scientific conferences and journals.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in Statistics, Operations Research, Machine Learning, Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields.
• Research experience and publications in top conferences/journals in at least one of the following areas: statistics, machine learning, optimization, causal inference, systems, software engineering.
• Broad and solid understanding of common statistical and machine learning techniques, both classical machine learning and deep learning.
• Strong analytical, applied research, and communication skill.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, take initiative and lead engagements as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge on cloud service infrastructure and system design.
• Experience with working on big data pipelines and cloud solutions.
