Job Description

Job Overview:
The UPLC-MS Analyst is responsible for conducting ultra-performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry analyses on a wide variety of samples, including pharmaceutical, environmental, and biological samples. The role involves sample preparation, method development, and analysis using UPLC-MS techniques to identify, quantify, and characterize compounds. The analyst works closely with research and development teams to support studies, ensuring accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain UPLC-MS/LCMS systems for the separation, identification, and quantification of compounds in various sample matrices. Perform routine analyses and troubleshoot issues with instrumentation.
  • Develop and validate UPLC-MS/LCMS methods tailored to specific sample types and research goals, optimizing separation conditions, mobile phases, and mass detection parameters.
  • Prepare samples for UPLC-MS/LCMS analysis, including dilutions, extractions, filtrations, and derivatization, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Process and interpret complex data from UPLC-MS/LCMS runs, including peak identification, quantitation, and mass spectral analysis. Provide comprehensive reports and summaries of results.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of UPLC-MS/LCMS instruments. Schedule service and repairs when necessary to ensure continuous, reliable operation.
  • Ensure all analyses meet the required standards for accuracy and precision. Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Work with chemists to meet analytical needs. Provide input on experiment design, sample handling, and method optimization.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain records to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments, methods, and results.
  • Follow all laboratory safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines for handling chemicals and hazardous materials. Maintain accurate records for regulatory and quality control audits.
  • Required Hands of experience in Prep HPLC, LCMS and NMR to evaluate the compounds.
