Primary Responsibility:




The Senior Rating Analyst would conduct end to end rating involving the following primary responsibilities:




The position is part of the Corporate or Infrastructure Group and the role entails undertaking rating assignments in respect of financial instruments, bank loans, and other debt products, and ensure timely delivery of the same as per the laid down regulatory timelines.



To independently handle the rating assignments and analyze financial statements factoring quantitative & qualitative data points, key ratios, performance to assess the creditworthiness of the company.



To prepare rating reports covering the risk assessment with respect to Management, Financials, Business and Industry, benchmarking with peers and key rating considerations.



Interact with company management, auditors, bankers, and other lenders and visit companies and factories as part of the regular monitoring and data gathering.



To take ownership of the folio by carrying out regular surveillance, monitoring, reviews on a quarterly basis/ material event basis, tracking the performance of the companies with respect to macroeconomic changes, handling internal and external audit queries.



Strictly adhere to standard operating procedure, regulations & policies.



Mentor and guide junior rating analysts



Competency / Skills:




Strong domain knowledge in the credit ratings/banking/financial services sector with an analytical approach.



Assessment of the creditworthiness of large and medium businesses in the infrastructure sector.



Strong analytical and presentation skills to present the facts along with rating recommendations to the rating committees.



Strong written and oral communication skills in English (for report-writing, making presentations).



Ability to structure and write high-quality reports, multi-task under tight deadlines.



Excellent customer communication skills to elicit information, ask questions, communicate rating decisions, and convince stakeholders.



Good understanding of accounting standards, banking-related financial concepts, and strong quantitative and analytical skills.



Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with the larger team, and lead and mentor team members.



Adept at organizing, analyzing, and reporting data.



Skilled in working with details and numbers.



A strong sense of ethics.



Educational Qualification:




Postgraduate in Finance / Commerce or Chartered Accountant
