Job Description

Introduction:

Basic Hitech Furniture Limited seeks an experienced quantity surveyor to manage project costs for building and interior projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial viability and profitability of our construction projects, working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents.

- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for optimal pricing and terms.

- Manage project budgets, including cost forecasting and monitoring.

- Maintain accurate cost records and documentation.

- Understand client requirements and take off quantities from drawings.

- Prepare BOQs by studying specification sheets from the sales team.

- Identify and resolve discrepancies between BOQs and project documents.

- Participate in pre-tender activities and raise pre-bid queries.

- Prepare initial quotes and contracts for the sales team.

- Coordinate with the design team to analyze architectural and service drawings.

- Manage work valuation, claims, and variations.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize project outcomes and achieve value for money.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, interior designing, or a related field.

- 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting, preferably in construction/interior contracting.

- Knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations, and standards.

- Familiarity with contract administration and legal aspects.

- Understanding of various contracting methods and project types.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD and quantity validation from drawings.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

- Proficiency in relevant quantity surveying software and tools.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

- Professional membership or certification in quantity surveying or construction management.

- Experience with residential and commercial construction projects.

- Familiarity with BIM and quantity takeoff software.

- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

- Strong project management skills and ability to work under pressure.
