The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee cost estimation, financial management, and contract administration for our construction projects. This role demands a thorough understanding of building economics, contract law, and project management to ensure financial efficiency and project success.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Responsibilities
Prepare and manage cost estimates and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
Perform risk and value management and cost control.
Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs.
Advise on a procurement strategy.
Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.
Negotiate contracts and work schedules.
Monitor and report on project progress against the budget.
Ensure that project costs are kept within budget.
Prepare and present detailed cost reports for clients and senior management.
Manage and mentor junior staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Professional membership with RICS, CIOB, or equivalent.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in quantity surveying or a similar role.
Excellent knowledge of construction methods and materials.
Strong understanding of contract law and standard forms of contracts.
Proven experience in cost estimation, financial management, and reporting.
