Purpose of Role:

The Senior Quality Engineer ensures that quality standards are implemented and sustained across all projects, systems, and teams. The role combines QA/QC oversight, staff training, technical design support, site inspection, and continuous process improvement. The engineer will be responsible for helping the organization adopt quality best practices, comply with industry standards, and deliver long-term performance across all waterproofing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Control:

Responsible for QA across the full project lifecycle: material certifications, inspection requests, NCRs, site observations, and compliance reports. Develop and implement Quality Control Plans (QCP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), and Method Statements for each project. Review and evaluate incoming materials at site and ensure strict compliance with approved specifications. Supervise inspections, coordinate third-party and in-house testing, and document findings. Monitor quality logs, record deviations, and prepare daily and weekly QA reports. Assist employees in understanding all relevant quality standards and ensure compliance with quality manuals and procedures Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to maintain and enforce quality expectations across the supply chain. Monitor an efficient quality system, record project activities, and analyze processes to ensure full quality adherence. Manage work methods, remain updated with QA standards, and recommend corrective actions to improve operations. Develop detailed Method Statements, including risk assessments, job safety analysis, environmental evaluation, and inspection processes.

Training, Standards & Implementation:

Conduct structured training sessions for staff across departments (design, procurement, stores, execution) and the site workforce. Conduct product analysis and comparative studies, generate technical reports, and help select optimal products. Lead implementation of IS, ASTM, EN, BS standards across processes to align with international benchmarks. Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives across departments and project sites.

Design and Methodology Support:

Work closely with the Design Department to analyze project requirements and provide quality-driven technical input. Recommend system methodology based on substrate condition, site factors, and long-term performance objectives. Evaluate design risks related to water ingress, structural movement, and chemical exposure, and align system selection accordingly. Help prepare project-specific construction methodologies focused on durability and minimal maintenance.

Waterproofing System Expertise:

Assess sites to identify water ingress risks and failure points. Guide system selection (PU, cementitious, acrylic, bitumen-based, hybrid) and approve compatibility before execution. Supervise installation practices and verify compliance with manufacturer specs and safety regulations. Assist in inspection, performance assessment, and corrective action planning for failed or underperforming systems. Interface with architects, PMCs, clients, and consultants for quality alignment, documentation, and approvals.

Eligibility Criteria:

B.E./ B. Tech in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field 4-8 years in QA/QC roles, preferably in waterproofing, construction chemicals, or industrial coatings.

Technical Skills:

Sound knowledge of waterproofing technologies and system compatibility Hands-on with QA/QC planning, testing, audits, and documentation Proficient in applying IS, ASTM, EN, and BS standards Experience with ISO 9001 QMS framework is preferred
