Role Title: Senior Quality Engineer II
Position Summary:
Provide technical leadership and strategic direction to the Quality Engineering (QE) organization.Provide technical expertise in design, development, and optimization of advanced reporting solutions using Microsoft Fabric platform,Power BI and Jira Dashboard that drive data-informed decision-making across the organization.As a key member of the reporting team, collaboratesinternally andwith cross-functional stakeholders to define and track critical KPIs, standardize reporting processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement through effective data visualization and analysis.Develop Quality Engineering strategies and standards, including KPIs and Metrics for regression and performance testing for development teams.Educate Product teams on QE best practices and assist them in their adoption.Coach product teams in implementing QA and QE practices in a SAFe Agile environment.Evaluate current QE processes in Product teams and drive them to conform with established standards.Engage with other QE staff to deliver high quality testing solutions across the organization. Collaborate with QE tools architects/engineers to resolve issues and recommend improvements.Conduct POC projects on emerging QE technologies and drive them towards adoption in the organization.Mentor QE staff and assist in developing curriculum for staff upskilling.
Expected deliverables may include: Quality Engineering Strategies, Test Strategies, Test Implementation Plans, Jira Initiatives, Epics and User Stories, presentations to Senior Management, and Marriott internal deliverables
Job Responsibilities:
Quality Leadership:

  • Develop and maintain advanced Power BI and Jira dashboards, creating custom visualizations and translating Quality Engineering (QE) KPIs into actionable insights that monitor test execution, defecttrends, release readiness, supporting business objectives and continuous improvement across the MTA EQE function.
  • Deliver strategic, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership based on comprehensive analysis of QE metrics, supporting informed decision-making and quality initiatives.
  • Lead the enhancement of reporting processes by refining data models, standardizing QE reporting templates, and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of test execution and defect data across all projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, track, and communicate key quality KPIs, such as defect density,and test coverage, presenting clear, actionable insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Oversee the automation of data pipelines and reporting schedules, ensuring real-time visibility into quality metrics and operational performance.
  • Provide guidance and training to thestakeholders and across MTA EQE on interpreting and utilizing reports, fostering a data-driven culture and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Stay current with advancements in Power BI and Jira, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to optimize reporting capabilities.
  • Configure and manage Jira filters, workflows, and permissions to support evolving reporting requirements and quality processes.
  • Design and maintain quality Power BI and Jira dashboards to monitor test execution, defect trends, and release readiness.
  • Design custom visualizations and translate QE KPIs into actionable insights aligned with business objectives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Deliver strategic recommendations to leadership based on data-driven analysis of QE metrics.
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, data quality issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to present data findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and track key QE metrics such as defect density, test coverage, and release readiness.
  • Enhance reporting processes by refining data models, standardizing QE reporting templates, and ensuring data accuracy of test execution and defect across projects.
  • Configure Jira filters, and workflows to support reporting needs.
  • Automate data reporting pipelines and refresh schedules for real-time reporting.
  • Stay current with Power BI and Jira updates and apply best practices.
  • Train and support users in interpreting and utilizing reports effectively.
  • Provides leadership and support to quality inspections
  • Functions as escalation point for SDETs
  • Creates best practice quality procedures
Delivering Technology:
  • Performs complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for delivering Quality Engineering reporting solutions
  • Validates solutions with internal customers and stakeholders
  • Facilitates achievement of expected deliverables per plan
Managing Projects and Policies:
  • Assists in the defect management process
  • Participates in the identification and monitoring of risks and issues
  • Serve as a key member of the QE leadership team
Skills and Experience:
Required:
  • 6+ years of IT leadership experience with a blend of deep technical knowledge and a customer-focused mindset
  • Experience in software development, test engineering, with expert-level expertise in multiple testing methodologies
  • Experience engaging highly technical architecture, engineering and operations teams and driving outcomes with QE automation
  • Strong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to guide the implementation of BDD, TDD and related approaches to software development
  • Experience with Test Automation and DevSecOps tools (e.g., Git, JIRA, Ant, Maven, Jenkins)
  • Have deep understanding and hands on experience withMicrosoft Fabric platform, PowerBI, and JIRA administrative side.
  • Undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification
Preferred:
  • Demonstrated success leading medium- to large-scale initiatives/transformations.
  • Proven knowledge of Agile methodology (preferably SAFe Agile).
  • Experience with mixed and offshore delivery models.
  • Good process management, negotiating, influencing, and problem resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of business environment, service requirements, and hospitality culture.
  • Ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, and influence appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to communicate technology lifecycles and strategies.
  • Experience in developing data analytic reporting solutions utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies based onthe Microsoft Fabric platform.
Education and Certifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification.
  • Work Location: Hyderabad, India.
