Job Summary:

Cosmos Pumps Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and proactive

Senior Quality Engineer

to strengthen our QA/QC operations in pump manufacturing and assembly. The role demands strong technical expertise in

industrial pumps and rotating equipment

, hands-on inspection experience, and a sound understanding of

ISO 9001-based QMS implementation

.

The candidate will be responsible for driving

quality assurance systems, supplier compliance, process improvement

, and

audit readiness

across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Process Control

Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC systems, SOPs, and inspection standards specific to

industrial dewatering pumps and rotating assemblies

. Ensure compliance with

ISO 9001:2015

, customer-specific requirements (e.g., Kirloskar, PSU clients), and internal quality standards. Conduct

process audits, line inspections, and final testing verification

to ensure adherence to quality checkpoints. Establish and monitor

control plans, inspection criteria

, and sampling standards for mechanical, machining, and fabrication processes.

Inspection & Testing

Carry out

incoming, in-process, and final inspection

for mechanical and electrical components (casings, impellers, shafts, seals, couplings, motors, etc.). Supervise

hydrostatic, performance, and endurance testing

of pumps. Prepare and maintain

inspection reports, calibration records, and test certificates (TCs)

.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

Conduct

Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

and drive

Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)

for internal, supplier, and customer issues. Utilize quality tools such as

5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis

, and

FMEA

. Lead

rejection analysis meetings

with production and supplier teams to improve process capability.

Supplier Quality & Material Traceability

Audit and evaluate supplier performance; ensure compliance with

MOC/TC

and

colour-coded identification

requirements for materials (SS/MS, CI, etc.). Manage supplier rejections, material segregation, and NCR closures. Support the

purchase department

in supplier development initiatives.

Calibration & Documentation

Ensure all measuring instruments and gauges are

calibrated and traceable to NABL

standards. Maintain

records for MOC/TC

, test data, calibration certificates, and process audit checklists. Support

internal, customer, and third-party audits

with complete documentation readiness.

Requirements:

Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

.

3-5 years of experience

in QA/QC within industrial pumps, rotating equipment, or precision engineering industries. Strong knowledge of

pump components and assemblies

(impellers, casings, shafts, bearings, seals, couplings). Hands-on experience with

precision measurement tools

(micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, CMM, etc.). Proficiency in

reading engineering drawings, GD&T

, and manufacturing tolerances. Working knowledge of

non-destructive testing (NDT)

methods (desirable). Strong communication, documentation, and report-writing skills. Proficient in

MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

and data-driven quality reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in

supplier audits, PPAP, and process validation

. Exposure to

continuous improvement projects (Kaizen, Lean, 5S)

. Experience in

customer audit preparation

and closure of NCRs.
