We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Senior Quality Engineer
to lead and manage quality control processes in our submersible pump manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that products meet strict internal and customer quality standards through robust inspection systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Planning & Control:
Develop, implement, and monitor quality standards and inspection procedures.
Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality plans for submersible pumps and components.
Set up in-process and final inspection checkpoints during assembly and testing.
Inspection & Testing:
Supervise incoming, in-process, and final product inspection.
Ensure testing of pumps (hydraulic test, performance test, leak test) as per IS/IEC standards.
Calibrate and maintain inspection and measuring instruments.
Non-Conformance & Root Cause Analysis:
Identify non-conformities in manufacturing and assembly processes.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) for quality issues using tools like 5 Why, Fishbone, or 8D.
Supplier Quality Management:
Evaluate and audit vendors/suppliers to ensure incoming material meets quality standards.
Handle vendor rejection, feedback, and quality improvement programs.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain quality records as per ISO 9001 and applicable regulatory standards.
Prepare and submit quality reports, inspection logs, and customer quality documentation.
Ensure compliance with relevant BIS/IEC/ISI standards applicable to water/submersible pumps.
Team Leadership & Training:
Train quality inspectors and junior engineers on quality tools, standards, and inspection methods.
Work collaboratively with production, R&D, and service teams to resolve quality issues and implement improvements.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of mechanical components, pumps, castings, and machining processes.
Hands-on experience with measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, CMM, etc.).
Knowledge of quality tools: FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, 7 QC tools, 8D, etc.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, BIS/ISI standards related to pumps.
Proficient in reading engineering drawings and tolerance symbols.
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Educational Qualification:
B.E./B.Tech
in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
Additional certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO auditor) is an advantage.
