Position: Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Manager - Civil

Location: Mumbai (Project Site)

Project: Metro Rail - 66kV & above GIS Substations and associated Civil works

Engagement: Full-time, till completion of Design-Build Period

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

Graduate in Civil Engineering with

minimum 12 years of total work experience

, OR Diploma in Civil Engineering with

minimum 15 years of total work experience

.

Relevant Similar Experience (QA):

Graduate -

minimum 6 years

' experience in

Quality Assurance for 66kV or above GIS-based substations in Metro Rail / Suburban Rail / Mainline Rail projects

. Diploma -

minimum 8 years

' experience in

QA for similar works

.

Deployment Requirement:

Must be posted

full-time in Mumbai

specifically for this project till completion of the Design-Build Period.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance Planning & Control

Establish, implement, and maintain the

Project Quality Assurance Plan (QAP)

in compliance with contract/tender requirements. Ensure adherence to

IS/IEC standards, Indian Railway specifications, and Metro Rail Authority QA requirements

. Define and monitor

Inspection & Test Plans (ITP)

for all civil works in substations.

2. Materials & Workmanship Quality

Review and approve

material submittals, concrete mix designs, and vendor test certificates

. Ensure quality control of

civil foundations, superstructure, cable trenches, cable routes, and building works

associated with substations. Verify and monitor

laboratory and field tests

(soil, concrete, reinforcement steel, non-destructive testing, etc.).

3. Audits, Inspections & Compliance

Conduct

internal QA/QC audits

and support third-party inspections as required by the client (Ircon/MMRDA). Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and vendors to

resolve NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports)

and close corrective actions. Maintain strict compliance with

ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

and project specifications.

4. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain and update

quality records, checklists, inspection logs, and QA dossiers

. Prepare and submit

daily/weekly/monthly QA progress reports

to the Project Director/Client. Ensure

traceability of materials and test results

as per QA protocols.

5. Leadership & Training

Lead the

site QA/QC team of engineers and inspectors

to ensure high-quality standards are maintained. Conduct

training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs

for site engineers, contractors, and labor on quality procedures. Promote a

quality-first culture

throughout the project execution phase.

Technical Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of

QA/QC procedures in Civil works of EHV substations (66kV and above, GIS preferred)

. Familiarity with

Metro Rail QA standards, RDSO specifications, BIS/IEC codes, and relevant international standards

. Expertise in

construction material testing, structural QA checks, and geotechnical QA procedures

. Proficiency in

MS Office, AutoCAD, QA documentation systems, and project QA reporting tools

. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and client coordination skills.

inspection/test reports and QA compliance documentation

with client/consultant during execution. Final QA dossier submission for

project closeout and handover
