The Senior Quantity Surveyor (QS) Engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost management and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle. This includes cost estimation, tendering, valuation, budgeting, procurement, and final settlement, ensuring the project is completed within budget and meets the company's quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed
cost estimates
,
BOQs
, and
tender documents
for civil, architectural, and MEP works.
Conduct
quantity take-offs
from drawings and specifications.
Evaluate
subcontractor quotations
and assist in procurement processes.
Prepare and review
contracts
,
variations
,
claims
, and
payment certificates
.
Monitor and control
project budgets
, reporting deviations and cost implications.
Conduct
value engineering
and provide cost-saving recommendations.
Manage and maintain
records of measurements, correspondence, and contract documents
.
Coordinate with
project managers, engineers, consultants, and clients
to ensure financial and contractual compliance.
Prepare and submit
monthly cost reports
and
cash flow forecasts
.
Handle
post-contract activities
including change orders, final accounts, and project closure documentation.
Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory requirements, and contractual obligations.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in
Civil Engineering
or
Quantity Surveying
(Master's Degree preferred).
Minimum
10-20 years of experience
in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and contract management in
construction, infrastructure, or consultancy sectors
.
Sound knowledge of
standard contract forms
(FIDIC, JCT, or local equivalents).
Proficiency in
AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project, and quantity surveying software
(e.g., CostX, Candy, or similar).
Strong understanding of
construction methodologies, materials, and market rates
.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and lead a small QS team.
