Position Summary:

We are seeking a

Senior QA - Assistant Manager / Executive

with hands-on experience in quality inspection of

soft luggage

(trolley bags, backpacks, duffles) and

Small Leather Goods (SLG)

(wallets, belts, purses). You'll be responsible for inspecting inbound shipments at our warehouse, ensuring that product construction, aesthetics, and functionality meet approved standards and SOPs. Your role also involves defect classification, discrepancy reporting, root cause analysis and mentoring junior QA staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect inbound travel gear and SLG items from domestic and international suppliers. Compare products with approved samples--assessing stitching, hardware fit, branding accuracy, and functional tests (e.g., trolley jerk, zipper, handle pull). Employ AQL sampling to identify and classify defects (critical/major/minor). Prepare discrepancy reports, coordinate corrective actions with suppliers and internal teams. Maintain daily QA logs and SOP-compliant records for audit readiness. Conduct basic function and durability checks--such as zip cycles, strap pull strength, color fastness, and seam integrity--with manual and expedited tests. Support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement using 7 QC tools (Pareto, Fishbone, Control Charts, etc.). Supervise and mentor junior QA inspectors, escalating major quality issues to QA Head.

Preferred Candidate:

Diploma or Graduate in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Textile, or related field. Proficient with luggage and SLG construction and finishing techniques. Hands-on experience with AQL sampling and QA inspection tools. Skilled in MS Excel and QA report preparation. Familiar with 7 QC tools: Pareto chart, Fishbone diagram, Control charts, Check sheets, Histograms, Scatter diagrams, Flowcharts.

Qualitative Skills:

Strong defect detection and inspection proficiency aligned with global quality benchmarks. Analytical and methodical--capable of interpreting quality data and driving root-cause improvements. Clear and effective communicator--comfortable liaising with suppliers, operations teams, and QA leadership. Leadership mindset--able to guide, supervise, and train junior QA staff. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with rigorous adherence to SOPs. Proactive in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing corrective actions. Reliable under pressure, maintaining quality and accuracy in fast-paced settings.
