The Senior Purchase Engineer is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, including vendor development, cost optimization, negotiation, and timely sourcing of materials, components, and services. The role requires strong technical understanding, strategic sourcing skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities1. Procurement & Sourcing
Execute procurement of raw materials, components, consumables, and services as per organizational requirements.
Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers to ensure quality, cost competitiveness, and timely delivery.
Manage RFQs, technical bid evaluations, and commercial negotiations.
Ensure procurement compliance with company policies and industry standards.
2. Vendor Management
Develop and maintain a strong supplier base.
Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and performance reviews.
Build long-term relationships to support cost reduction and quality improvements.
3. Cost Optimization
Analyze market trends, material price fluctuations, and cost drivers.
Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategic sourcing strategies.
Negotiate contracts, prices, and payment terms to achieve procurement targets.
4. Coordination & Cross-Functional Support
Collaborate with engineering, production, planning, and quality teams to understand material specifications.
Ensure seamless flow of materials to support uninterrupted production.
Resolve technical or quality-related issues with suppliers.
5. Documentation & Compliance
Manage purchase orders, contracts, delivery schedules, and vendor records.
Ensure adherence to legal, safety, and compliance guidelines.
Maintain accurate procurement reports and dashboards.

Qualifications & Experience
Education:
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or related discipline.
Experience:
5-10 years in procurement/purchase in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier development, and cost reduction.
